Abstract
Due to the connected river between Xingyun Lake and Fuxian Lake, the exchange of seeds of Potamogeton pectinatus L. occurred through frequent water flow. Thus the gene flow of local populations between these two lakes could be expected to be high. However, PCoA Analysis showed that the genetic differentiation between the two habitats (Xingyun Lake and Fuxian Lake) was significant, which indicated that there was no substantial gene flow. The result suggested that habitat types might play an important role in the genetic diversity of the P. pectinatus populations between these two lakes.
