Abstract
⺠Comparative and evolutionary status of the three mitochondrial genes in IMCs described. ⺠Control region evolved more rapidly than ATPase 6/8 and cyt b. ⺠CR having more number of variable sites. ⺠Equal evolutionary rates in all lineages. ⺠Rohu and catla are more closely related than mrigal.
