Abstract
⺠We examined the terpene profiles among the populations of two pine species: Pinus eldarica Medw. and Pinus nigra Arnold. ⺠The two species did not differ qualitatively; however, there were significant differences in their quantitative terpene profiles. ⺠In P. nigra, the major constituent of the turpentine was α-pinene. ⺠In the turpentine of P. eldarica, α-pinene and 3-carene were the major components in both populations.
