Abstract
⺠Cyt b, GHR and IRBP genes were used to elaborate the phylogenetic positions of Proedromys. ⺠Proedromys is not monophyletic as it is currently recognized. ⺠Proedromys bedfordi was separated from the genus Microtus, formed a well-supported clade. ⺠The position of Proedromys liangshanensis was unstable due to low-moderately supported value. ⺠Dramatic geological and climatic changes had promoted speciation.
