Abstract
► Foliar volatiles of Anisomeles indica exhibit phytotoxicity against weeds. ► Leaves yield yellowish-brown pungent smelling essential oil upon hydrodistillation. ► GC-MS analyses revealed that the oil contained equal amount of mono- and sesquiterpenes. ► Volatile oil exhibited phytotoxicity against weeds in a dose-response manner. ► The oil holds a good promise for weed management under sustainable agriculture.
