Abstract
⺠Swertia tetraptera (Maxim) is an endemic plant in Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, which was threatened by human overexploitations. ⺠Information on genetic variation could improve conservation of the species. ⺠We examined genetic variation within and among 34 populations using ISSR markers. ⺠We found that the genetic diversity was high at the species level, but low at the population level, and the population structure was also high. ⺠Populations still harbor high genetic diversity despite limited gene flow.
