Abstract
⺠Genetic characters of C. nigrodigitatus were examined by AFLP. ⺠The results showed low levels of genetic diversity in the Kaduna River. ⺠It implied an urgent need to adopt protection measures to protect it. ⺠The potential dispersal of the adult and juveniles limited gene flow among locations. ⺠The results indicated different habitat responsible for its current genetic structure.
