Abstract
A rotating bending approach for determination of low-cycle fatigue parameters is presented. The stress ratio R = −1 is induced on a specimen loaded with a pure bending moment, and exposed to the rotation with respect of its longitudinal axis. The basic concept of the specially designed testing machine and its characteristics are also illustrated in the paper. The developed testing machine and theoretical approach were then used for determination of low-cycle fatigue parameters of high strength steel S1100Q. Finally, the main advantages of the proposed procedure compared to the uniaxial strain-controlled fatigue testing according to the ASTM E 606 standard are presented.
