Abstract
⺠We investigate the DAH7P synthase from Aeropyrum pernix, a primitive archaebacterium. ⺠We present the biochemical characterization and crystal structure of the enzyme. ⺠The enzyme activity is not regulated by metabolites from the shikimate pathway.
