Abstract
Two new high cycle multiaxial criteria are proposed on the basis of previous tests on other published criteria. One of the new criteria searches for a critical plane, while the second one integrates a fatigue parameter over all planes. The two criteria use a similar hybrid fatigue parameter, and these emphasize the effect of shear stress in comparison to normal stress. They both lead to a much better prediction than that achieved by other tested criteria. The experiments used for the comparisons were gathered from other published papers. There were a total of 119 experiments, so a statistical comparison of all results was necessary.
