Abstract
- Tosyl agaroses were obtained by homogeneous synthesis in different solvents.
- The degree of tosylation could be tailored by variation of the reaction conditions.
- The substitution pattern was altered by performing the reaction with or without LiCl.
- Novel deoxy-agarose derivatives were obtained by nucleophilic displacement reaction.
