- Tomato peel cellulose was isolated by acidified NaClO2/KOH or Cl-free NaOH/H2O2.
- Cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) were 41:2:1 length:width:thickness ratio.
- CNCs self-assembled into highly crystalline (80.8%) fibrous mass.
- Uniformly nanofibers (42Â nm width) were assembled from 1:1 tert-butanol/water.
