Abstract
⺠Low methoxy amidated pectin (AMP) was used as matrix to develop triclosan buccal patches. ⺠AMP matrix integrity was improved through addition of 20% (w/w) of Carbopol. ⺠TR solubility/release from patches was optimized through cyclodextrin complexation. ⺠β-Cyclodextrin polymer was the derivative of choice for patch formulation. ⺠Microbiological studies proved the good therapeutic potential of the developed formulation.
