Abstract
⺠Conditions for the synthesis of C- and S-Galf derivatives from per-O-TBS-β-d-Galf, have been investigated. ⺠Per-O-TBS-β-d-Galf has been in situ activated with TMSI as the galactofuranosyl iodide. ⺠Reactions occur readily without need for other promoters, under mild conditions. ⺠An isolable 1-galactofuranosylthiol derivative has been synthesized. ⺠Glycomimetics or precursors of glycobiological tools were synthesized.
