Abstract
⺠2(4)-Deoxy-2(4)-fluoro-α,d-galactopyranosyl phosphonates were key intermediates. ⺠Fluorine was introduced first by nucleophilic substitution. ⺠Triethyl phosphite reacts with 2(4)-deoxy-2(4)-fluoro-α,d-galactopyranosyl acetate.
