Abstract
Prediction of structural response for low velocity impact on flexible structures is important for the selection of an appropriate impact model. This paper considers a new modeling of an impacted structure based on so-called anti-oscillators. The representation of an impacted structure through its anti-oscillators permits to understand the effects of different impact parameters on the structural response. It is shown that the first anti-oscillator permits not only to predict the expected structural response but also a good estimation of the impact duration.
