Abstract
A new series of 3-halopyridinyl-alkynenitriles and acetylenic carboxylic acid esters were prepared by microwave induced extrusion of triphenylphosphine oxide from β-oxo-ylides. Their potential as a new class of broad spectrum antimicrobial agents is reported.
