Abstract
⺠We have expanded our original phenylacrylonitrile pharmacophore. ⺠We demonstrate the importance of the nitrile moiety. ⺠Synthesis of acrylic acid analogues abolishes cytotoxicity. ⺠Introduction of an indole moiety afford nanomolar potency across 11 cancer cell lines.
