Abstract
⺠Successfully evaluated sulfonilamidothiopyrimidone and thiopyrimidone derivatives as COX-2 inhibitors. ⺠Identified four compounds which show very potent activity and good COX-2 selectivity. ⺠Docking studies were in agreement with the biological data. ⺠The observed effects were not due to an inhibition of cell proliferation.
