Synthesis and anticonvulsant activity of ethyl 1-(2-arylhydrazinecarboxamido)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate derivatives

► A series of ethyl 1-(2-arylhydrazinecarboxamido)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate were synthesized. ► Two models have been used for determining the anticonvulsant activity of candidate compounds. ► Compound 6m showed ED50 value of 9.8 mg/kg and PI of 33.9 in the MES test. ► The structure of arylhydrazinecarboxamide is a good pharmacophore with anticonvulsant activity.
