Abstract
⺠Aminoacyl tRNA synthetases (aaRSs) are a key component in protein synthesis. ⺠AaRS inhibitors make up a potential class of new antimicrobials. ⺠Several aaRS inhibitors are in clinical development. ⺠Aminoacyl sulfamoyladenosines (aaSAs) for a long time already have been evaluated as high-potential antibiotics. ⺠Improvement of the bioavailability problem of aaSAs is under investigation. ⺠The here discussed compounds will further establish aaRSs as a valuable target for development of antibiotics.
