Abstract
⺠Lipoic acid is a natural antioxidant with neuroprotective effects. ⺠We developed new lipoic acid hybrids as anti-Alzheimer lead candidates. ⺠Synthesized compounds were tested for their multitarget profile. ⺠Lipoic acid stereochemistry did not significantly affect the biological activity. ⺠Compound 4 exhibited anticholinesterase and antioxidant capacities.
