Abstract
⺠Analytical solution proposed extends the range of applicability of the Hertz theory. ⺠Porosity has large effect on radial displacement and local stress of cellular solids. ⺠Contact fatigue life of cellular solids mainly depends on the subsurface stress. ⺠Bending deformation of cell wall affects the subsurface stress distribution largely.
