Abstract
⺠Novel 1,3-dihydro-2H-indol-2-one 4a-l derivatives are designed and evaluated. ⺠Biginelli's reaction is employed for preparation of compounds 1a/1b using CaCl2. ⺠Compounds 4d and 4j showed significant antibacterial and antifungal activity. ⺠Compound 4d displayed promising antitubercular activity compared to standards.
