Abstract
⺠Fatty acyl amide derivatives of doxorubicin were synthesized and evaluated. ⺠Dodecanoyl derivative was the most effective among the synthesized derivatives. ⺠Dodecanoyl derivative inhibited the proliferation of colon and ovarian cancer cells. ⺠Free amino group is required for anticancer activity of doxorubicin.
