Abstract
⺠Novel ketolides were synthesized and evaluated for their antibacterial activity. ⺠9n and 9k showed better antibacterial activity than telithromycin. ⺠9a, 9e, 9k and 9n have in vitro antibacterial spectrum similar to telithromycin. ⺠They are potent against erm and mef-gene containing resistant strains.
