Abstract
Phytochemicals in the vegetative buds, bark and wood of winter-dormant Salix pyrolifolia trees consist of low molecular-weight (LMW) phenolic compounds and high molecular-weight condensed tannins. The phytochemical composition is specific to each plant part, and the concentrations of individual compounds fluctuate with the age of tree.127
