Abstract
All red perilla (P. frutescens) and most P. citriodora strains accumulate five cyanidin derivatives that differ in the acyl group on the glucose moiety at the 3-O- and 5-O-positions of the anthocyanins. Only one strain of P. citriodora contain seven anthocyanins while another strain of P. citriodora contains only two anthocyanins.340
