Abstract
The reactions of a pyranone with sulfonic anhydride or chlorophosphate resulted in the formation of a series of new pyrylium salts that bear sulfonate and phosphonate groups, respectively, which were characterized spectroscopically. Moreover, the reactions of 4-chloro- and 4-bromopyrylium tetrafluoroborates with tris(trimethylsilyl)phosphine afforded the corresponding chloro- and bromophosphinines.148
