Abstract
A high-throughput method has been developed for screening and optimization of heterogeneous catalysts and reacting condition by judging from the change in the color of reactants and products as well as indicators during reaction. As compared with other techniques, this method is simple and viable. In catalytic esterification, methyl orange is chosen as an indicator for screening the catalysts under various conditions. In the photocatalytic degradation of dyes, methyl orange and Rhodamine B are chosen as indicators for the catalytic reactions. Furthermore, the results obtained from high-throughput color-screening have been verified by GC and UV-Vis spectrometer, showing a good accordance between the color-screening and the GC, UV-Vis techniques.
