Abstract
Nanomagnetite, prepared at different pHs, is computationally modelled with the largest cluster reported to date for a DFT analysis of Fe3O4. These bare magnetite particles show comparable broad-spectrum antibacterial growth inhibition to ampicillin, while simultaneously demonstrating low hepatic and renal toxicity in a mouse model.186
