Abstract

- The present study focuses on protective effect of Hydrilla verticillata against lead induced toxicity in bone tissues of an edible fish.
- The XRD analysis of bone samples shows the presense minerals and from the FT-IR results several peaks were identified corresponds to protein, carbohydrates and lipids in bone samples.
- The deconvolution of protein band depicts that α - helix and β - turn can explain the variation in protein secondary structure of all the fish bone samples. The cumulative percentage of explained variance in secondary structure of protein is calculated by principal component analysis.
- The lead concentration decreases significantly by supplementation of 20 % Hidrilla verticillata in Labeo rohita fingerlings.
