Abstract
The selenite substitution in HA improves the combination with lysozyme and slows its release. During precipitation, there is strong electrostatic attraction between selenite ions of HA and ammonium ions of lysozyme molecule. More lysozyme molecules are prone to be encapsulated into the selenite substituted HA crystalline. Based on the replacement of phosphate ions by selenite ions, the more selenite groups inside the HA lattice, the slower is the release of the lysozyme.92
