Abstract
Cadmium complexes of the formulae [Cd(5-Cl-salo)2(CH3OH)]2 and [Cd(5-Cl-salo)2(α-diimine)]2 or [Cd(5-Cl-salo)(α-diimine)(ONO2)]2 have been synthesized and characterized. The complexes bind tightly to CT DNA probably by intercalation competing with ethidium bromide for the intercalation site of DNA.144
