Abstract
► We have developed a crystal plasticity model to describe the plastic deformation of BCC metals. ► Recent results from atomistic simulations were used to parameterize the deformation behavior. ► The model incorporates temperature, stress, and strain rate dependence of flow in BCC metals. ► We show the importance of modeling mechanism transitions in metals with high lattice friction.
