Abstract
Carbon nanostructures with different morphologies to be used as reinforcing agent in hybrid polymer-carbon nanocomposites were prepared by CO2 laser pyrolysis of a hydrocarbon-based mixture. Investigations on the epoxy-resin/nanocarbon composites have shown that their properties depend on the morphology of the nanopowders. Preliminary results suggest that some of these carbon nanopowders lead to samples of nanocomposites with significant improvement of their mechanical properties.
