Abstract
Recently, successful experiments were performed on the encapsulation of single atoms into single-walled carbon nanotubes, and the progress in the growth of centimeter-long small-diameter single-walled nanotubes was reported. We study a scheme for the entanglement of two atoms doped into the nanotube and show that the (resonator-like) cylindrical nanotube environment can result in a significant degree of the quantum-bit entanglement of the bipartite atomic system.
