Abstract
Chemical disordering from the L10 phase to the A1 phase in FeNi proceeds by nucleation and coalescence on variant boundaries followed by 1-D growth of the A1 phase. The transformation has an associated activation energy of 3.1Â eV where the need to create and move vacancies is hypothesized to be the limiting step.98
