Abstract
The corrosion inhibition effect of phytic acid on 20SiMn steel in simulated carbonated concrete pore solution contaminated by Cl− was investigated by weight loss, electrochemical measurements, scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Raman spectroscopy. Results show that the inhibition efficiency of IP6 is up to 84.0% after 72 h immersion. An deposited film forms on the surface of specimen after the addition of IP6, which includes three layers: the inner layer consists of Fe3O4 and FeOOH; the middle layer contains Fe3O4, FeOOH and FePO4; the outer layer consists of Fe3O4, FeOOH, FePO4 and Fe(II)-IP6.
