Abstract
- Combined acoustic emission (AE) and electrochemical noise (EN) techniques were used to monitor stress corrosion cracking.
- It was possible to distinguish between steps with a predominant electrochemical or mechanical contribution to crack propagation.
- A four stages damage mechanism was suggested.
