Abstract
Iron oxide was modified by epoxy resin at 20, 80, 100, 120, and 140 °C grinding temperatures using the high-temperature mechanochemistry method. Graft density on the surface of the modified iron oxide increased with the rise of grinding temperature from 20 °C to 120 °C. The corrosion protection of the coatings containing the modified iron oxide powders was improved with the increase of graft density, because interface defects between iron oxide particles and epoxy resin reduced with the increase of graft density.
