Abstract
- Previous many models assume negligible precipitate in the internal oxidation (IO) zone.
- This may give unrealistic results for certain input values of the parameters involved.
- The Wagner hypothesis, used as constraint, is one way to eliminate these.
- A proper definition of the flux in the IO zone also eliminates these.
- An induction of the bulk flow due to volume expansion further improves the analysis.
