Abstract
⺠HTC laboratory tests show corrosion tendencies of the PbCl2-KCl, PbCl2-K2SO4 and PbCl2-ZnCl2-KCl. ⺠Extreme corrosiveness of PbCl2 was shown. ⺠Exposures to a PbCl2-K2SO4 caused grain boundary corrosion on 10CrMo9-10 and AISI347. ⺠Corrosion was enhanced by the presence of a melt in the salt mixtures. ⺠The presence of a melt was not necessary for severe corrosion by PbCl2 containing mixtures.
