Abstract
⺠Prefilming agents have been applied on bronze, as alternatives to BTA. ⺠The best protective properties have been achieved with a silane compound. ⺠Preliminary tests suggest it can hinder the degradation of gilded bronze. ⺠The inhibition mechanism of silane is investigated by FTIR, EDS and Raman.
