Abstract
► The oxidation of duplex stainless steel has been studied in situ using an ESEM. ► Different oxide structures and morphologies form on the different phases. ► Enhanced oxidation due to Mn diffusion on phase boundaries is observed. ► TEM cross-section analysis of oxide microstructure and chemistry is presented.
