Abstract
⺠The oxidation of duplex stainless steel has been studied in situ using an ESEM. ⺠Different oxide structures and morphologies form on the different phases. ⺠Enhanced oxidation due to Mn diffusion on phase boundaries is observed. ⺠TEM cross-section analysis of oxide microstructure and chemistry is presented.
