Abstract
An analytical solution of the problem of the scattering of a plane sound wave by a homogeneous elastic cylinder with a discrete-layered covering is obtained. The results of calculations of the radiation patterns of the scattered field for a cylinder with continuously-homogeneous and discrete-layered coverings are presented. It is shown that a radially inhomogeneous coating can be modelled by a system of homogeneous elastic layers.
