Abstract
The saturable absorption properties of molybdenum tungsten disulfide (MoWS2) near 1.6â¯Î¼m were investigated. Passively Q-switched Er:YAG laser at 1645â¯nm with a home-made MoWS2 as saturable absorber was realized. Under an absorbed pump power of 10.75â¯W, a maximum average output power of 1.62â¯W was achieved with a pulse duration of 1â¯Î¼sâ¯at a repetition rate of 43â¯kHz, corresponding to a pulse energy of 37.7â¯Î¼J.
