Abstract
The microstructure, phase transformation, mechanical properties and shape memory effect of Ti-19.5Zr-10Nb-0.5Fe alloy have been investigated. Ti-19.5Zr-10Nb-0.5Fe alloy is mainly composed of orthorhombic αâ³-Martensite as well as a small amount of β phase. The alloy exhibits a two-stage yielding in tension with a tensile strain of 21%. The corresponding maximum shape memory strain is as large as 4.1%, associated with a reverse martensitic transformation occurring at 429 K.
