Abstract
This work studied the strain coefficient of silica-based fiber Bragg grating (FBG) at cryogenic temperatures. A dynamic temperature test with an oxygen-free copper specimen in the temperature range of 30-273â¯K was designed. The relationship between the strain coefficient and temperature could be characterized by three-order polynomial. A static tensile test was carried out in liquid nitrogen environment verified the effectiveness of the dynamic results. Good correlation was obtained from the two experiment results. Finally, the factors affecting the measurement error were discussed.
