Abstract
This work aims to model numerically the adsorption process of an adsorber bed by using activated carbon/methanol pairs in order to evaluate the performances of different elements that influence the operation of adsorption refrigeration machine. Furthermore we modelled the heat and mass transfer in the porous media using the finite difference method. This analysis is accompanied by a discussion of the key parameters influencing the heat transfer. It is proved that the choice of the control parameters such as flux density, diameter of the tube and thermo-physical characteristics is decisive in the pre-dimensioning refrigeration installations.
